Data Science Projects
Predictive Modeling
Developed regression models to suggest NCAA football coach salaries given variables such as conference, strength of schedule, and stadium capacity.
Natural Language Processing
Analyzed over 200,000 Jeopardy! questions in Python to extract the most frequently occurring n-grams based on point value and determine high-scoring topics. Utilized NLP techniques including regular expressions, stop words, and tokenization.
Image Recognition
Classified 70,000 images into categories using modeling techniques including random forest, neural networks, KNN, and SVM.
Package Creation
Published a Python package on pypi.org called “supersquares” that creates randomly assigned Super Bowl squares.
Information Visualization
Applied graphic design principles to visualize 120 years of Olympic athlete demographic data. Encoded a variety of single and multi-dimensional plots to showcase how Olympic athletes have changed over time.
Time Series Analysis
Combined over 8 million rows of historical housing data from Zillow with rates of Internet access to inform hypothetical investment decisions by zip code through Facebook Prophet.
Database Management & Design
Created a sample database from scratch for a travel agency to help the company schedule and maintain all their bookings. Built conceptual model and normalized logical models. Performed physical database design, inserted, updated and queried data.
Clustering
Utilized Hierarchical and K-Means clustering to determine the likely attribution of the disputed Federalist Papers.
